We travel in a 2007 Born Free 24 RB (rear bath) on Ford E450 chassis.
I chose this model for multiple reasons:
- Very good reviews about it being a solid, well built, quality RV.
- Not too excessive in length – easy to maneuver.
- No slides – I didn’t want to have to worry about slide maintenance or any mechanical issues, and was willing to give up the extra space a slide provides.
- Good size kitchen – “plenty” of counter space for an RV. 3 burner propane stove, cupboards, dual sink, microwave/convection oven and a refrigerator with a separate freezer door. Everything a girl can ask for.
- Rear bath – I liked that from my previous travel trailer. This configuration works well with “lots” of counter space (again, for an RV) and a decent size shower.
More deets:
I have a 4kW Generator but also a solar setup with 200AH in usable battery capacity.
Fantastic Fan, A/C unit, heat, gas/electric water heater, outside shower, storage bays and roof racks.
I sleep on a JackKnife Sofa but have an option to sleep in the over the cab queen size bed. I chose to use that space as storage for my hiking, fishing, backpacking gear.
Below picture was taken the day I purchased it. I flew all the way to Ft. Myers, FL to get it. It was a very exciting day!
