The Tetons are so iconic. This is probably my 2nd all time favorite park following Glacier National Park in Montana.
The lakes, rivers, forests and wildlife surrounding these giant mountains are unspoiled and unforgettable. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I have seen YouTube videos and photographs of the Tetons before and they never really captured my attention. But arriving at the park and seeing them up close was one of the most AWE-wakening feelings I’ve ever had!
Snake River winds through the park and provides amazing scenery, a perfect day for a day hike or a picnic.

There are multiple campgrounds throughout the park. Most of them are first come – first serve, but couple take advanced reservations.
Colter Bay, Signal Mountain, Jenny Lake, Lizard Creek and Gros Ventre Campgrounds
Colter Bay offers beach access to this icy cold lake with extremely clean and clear waters. Leek’s Marina has a pizzeria that sells delicious pizza, great place for lunch.

Venturing into the Mormon Row Historic District of Teton county you can vist some of the old barns including iconic Moulton Barn and Chambers Homestead.
Walking throughout the park in the summer you will see wild flowers blooming everywhere.

Wildlife is very active in this park. There are elk, bison, grizzly and brown bears and deer. Below are pictures of the grizzly bear we saw. I think it’s the same bear as the pictures were taken during different times but near the same location along John D. Rockefeller, Jr Memorial Highway / US 191.

Since this was on top of my National Park list, I plan on returning there in summer of 2020 and will update the post at that time.
