Quick overnight stop at Lava Lake Campground right off this Scenic Byway.
The road itself is 66 miles long, runs East of the Cascade range and offers some beautiful views of mountains, lava rock formations, lakes, rivers, snow parks with fishing and camping opportunities along the way.
This was my route between Mt. Rainier National Park in WA and Crater Lake, OR.
The night I got there was pretty scary looking, with clouds and fog.
These are NOT black and white pictures, this is what it looked like when I walked the dog that evening. 😱
The next morning however. The sun came out and make my world in color again.
But it was time to move on…
Next: Crater Lake National Park
Wow! Amazing change in appearance between two days! Life on the road looks good on you!!! You look like a teenager!!! Younger, refreshed, glowing!!!!
Thanks! I’m actually back in Texas, working my way back towards Dallas for an appointment next week. Let me know if you have time for lunch.
